Future Roots
Local Food. Lasting Impact.
In October of 2024, the ED of Sun Valley Institute for Resilience (SVIR) approached us to spearhead their name change and rebrand to consolidate their sub-brands under one unified brand with a centralized mission.
Digging Deep
After extensive study and brainstorming sessions, including two rounds of review and over a dozen naming options, the committee selected the name Future Roots, which was then confirmed by the Board. The name reflects the organization’s mission, capturing its focus on local agriculture, sustainability, and community engagement.
The tagline Local Food. Lasting Impact. reinforces the aspirational vision to connect Idahoans with local food — and support ranchers, farmers, and producers to build more resilient communities together.
Standing Out in a Crowded Field
Navigating the competitive landscape of environmental nonprofits, we crafted a distinctive brand that is approachable and unique. The wordmark features a clean, rounded sans-serif font with a sprout as a simple but strong symbol of organic growth and rootedness.
The color palette is earthy and fresh with a vibrant collection of custom iconography designed to reflect the range and vitality of local agriculture and programming.
Sowing Seeds of Resilience
The new brand was introduced as a celebration of a decade of service—marking the next chapter in their mission to transform Idaho’s food system and strengthen community resilience. The rollout included a new website, digital announcements, and a high-visibility airport poster to engage supporters and broaden awareness.
Rooting for the Future
The result is a professional, cohesive brand that positions Future Roots as a nonprofit ready to make an even greater impact across southern Idaho. With a renewed focus and unified identity, Future Roots is poised to go further and deeper—empowering food cultivators, local businesses, and consumers alike. The organization now has a strong platform to advance food literacy, expand access to local food, and create new opportunities that strengthen and sustain a resilient, community-driven food system for future Idahoans.
